Oregon Timelapse Project
This video is my first really committed attempt at timelapse photography. Before this I sort of just messed around with it here and there, but never really dove in deep. My initial goal with this video was to stitch the pieces together in such a way that it represented a 24 hour-ish look at Oregon. I may have succeeded some with that, but it ultimately took on its own feel once I started editing (as it often does).
Detroit Lake: Milky Way Center and Perseid Meteor Shower Timelapse
This Timelapse of the Milky Way center was taken at Detroit Lake in Oregon during the Perseid meteor shower. You are able to see some of the meteors, though they flash by really fast. The still image from this captures them much better. There’s more planes than anything else flying by. In the future I’ll likely chose a location that’s not on a busy flight path for that reason. Less flashing lights on the ground will lessen the contrast flicker in the future too. I love the colors in this Timelapse, the Milky Way looks so cool! Check out the still image of this to see some of the meteors from the meteor shower streaking across the sky!
